Art and DT

Art

In Art, children have the opportunity to explore lots of different materials and techniques, from drawing with pencils and charcoal to painting and using mixed media. Their artwork is often linked to the class topic, helping them bring their learning to life in creative ways. Over the half term, they develop their skills, experiment with ideas and enjoy expressing themselves through colour, shape and texture. It’s a chance to be imaginative and proud of their artistic creations!

DT

In Design and Technology, children get the chance to be creative and hands-on! Over the half term, they learn how to design, plan, make and then evaluate their own project. They enjoy exploring and working with different materials, from paper and card to fabric and wood, and even have a go at learning simple sewing skills. It’s all about trying out ideas, problem-solving and being proud of something they’ve created themselves.

Tony Bullock!

Every year, our classes enjoy an exciting and creative experience with Tony Bullock! His lessons are carefully linked to the children’s class topics and give them the chance to explore a variety of art materials. The children love getting hands-on, experimenting with new techniques, and creating an amazing finished piece of art by the end of the sessions.
