Head's Welcome
Welcome to St. Cuthbert and The First Martyrs' Catholic Primary School. It is a real privilege to lead such a wonderful community where children are at the heart of everything we do.
Our vision is clear, Excellence in all we do, outstanding every day. We want every child to achieve their very best, not only in their learning but in the way they grow as people. Our mission, Through the sign of the cross we follow Jesus, reminds us that we are a Catholic family rooted in faith, and that Christ is our guide in how we live and learn together.
Life at St. Cuthbert and The First Martyrs' is shaped by the Virtues to Live By, which encourage our children to be loving, courageous, attentive, wise and just. These values underpin our daily life in school and help us to create a caring and respectful environment where everyone feels safe, valued and able to thrive.
Each day brings new opportunities to learn, to succeed and sometimes to face challenges. We believe in supporting one another through these moments so that every child grows in confidence and resilience, ready to take their place in the world as kind and thoughtful young people.
Our Catholic identity is central to who we are. Prayer, worship and service are woven into the life of the school, and we encourage children not just to learn about faith, but to live it through their actions, whether in the classroom, on the playground or in the wider community.
I warmly invite you to explore our website to find out more about our school. Even better, please do come and visit us – you will see for yourself the happy, welcoming atmosphere and the enthusiasm our children bring to their learning every day.
With best wishes,
Mrs Varley
